Sweetness. It filled the room from the moment I walked in. When I say that photography has introduced me to such wonderful people, I truly mean it. From the moment I opened the door, sweet Josie’s session was nothing short of - well, sweet! Josie’s mama, Jess, welcomed me into her room with a calm, love-filled grin. She just may be the most relaxed mama I’ve met. Perhaps it was exhaustion, which likely played into her relaxed nature. Being this was the first we met, we spent a little time chatting, getting to know one another. And after spending about an hour with her, I can tell you that she is one relaxed, patient and nurturing mama! Josephine Wren was born in late June and is baby #2 of the family. Big brother Jonah wasn’t quite sure what to make of her, but I know he’ll come around - all big brothers do! :)
The majority of our time together was focused on capturing little miss Josie. She had her own agenda and wanted to nurse for the majority of our session, but we made the most of it. I am quite pleased with just how many shots we captured around her hidden agenda!
I love to capture photos of mom and baby breastfeeding. Having breastfed my son, I know just how meaningful these moments are. When I reminisce on all of the time we spent together, I get emotional. I spent many minutes crying in awe as I looked down upon him. I prayed for him and don’t EVER take God’s work for granted. We created such a bond in the six or so months I spent nourishing him from my own body. And for this reason, I am ALWAYS open to capturing these moments for my mommas. It does take a certain level of comfort to be open to such photos and for this reason I realize they aren’t for everyone. Whichever momma you are - I got you. :)
