I had the pleasure of meeting this gorgeous couple a few weeks ago. We met up in downtown Easton, Pennsylvania for their engagement session, a location that holds a special place in their hearts. Ashlyn and Dakota met while working together at the Crayola Experience. Don't let them fool you; it didn't wasn't all rainbows and butterflies from the start. Ashlyn fell for Dakota as soon as she saw him, but it took Dakota a little longer to catch on to his feelings. They spent a few years as close friends until they realized that there was more between them than just a simple friendship. Ashlyn recently celebrated a birthday and thought for sure Dakota would incorporate a "surprise" proposal into their plans. BUT... he knew better than to give her exactly what she expected. He held off until after the birthday shenanigans were over, which in my opinion (not that it matters!), was a smooth move! Just when she thought her birthday was a done deal and a proposal wasn't going to happen, he pulled out all the stops and popped the question with family and friends nearby! A perfect way to celebrate!
I heard from Ashlyn shortly following Dakota's proposal and was so excited to meet them in Easton for their engagement photos! Having worked at Crayola's corporate office, I, also, had a bit of a connection to Easton and have been looking to capture a session in this urban area. I just love how their photos turned out, and I think it's safe to say they do as well! Take a peek and leave some love if you dig them, too!
I don't shoot in 'urban' settings often, so when I do, I fall instantly in love with the photos I capture with my clients! Don't get me wrong, I love a beautiful organic backdrop (cue the flowers, blooming trees and endless blades of grass). But when I am asked to lose the greenery and head into town, it's a nice change of pace that provides a different, yet beautiful background for all types of sessions - family, children, engagement, seniors - you name it!
Not to mention, there's so much variety! You've got brick walls, quaint alleyways, adorable storefronts and more! What's not to love?? Oh, and when you couple these beautiful backdrops with beautiful people... BAM! An absolutely stunning gallery!
