Love. An emotion that many, if not all, are fortunate to feel. An emotion that with it, enables us to feel many others - feelings of happiness, excitement, sadness, comfort, loneliness, confidence and contentment, just to name a few. Happiness... because you've found THE ONE. Excitement... because you look forward to every day and every moment with your love. Sadness and loneliness... when you're apart from your love. Comfort... during those tough times, when there's no one else that brings you more comfort than your boo. Confidence... because you have never felt better about yourself, mainly because that special someone brings out the best in you. And contentment... because nothing has felt as right as it does now. Now that your life is complete.
This lovely lady holds a dear place in my heart. For those of you that don't know me well, Lauri is my younger sister. As with any sister, I've been a witness to Lauri's ups and downs. Although, I think it's safe to say the 'downs' are a thing of the past, at least for a good while now that she's got this guy! Lauri and Drew met about one year ago and were brought together via the web, not surprising in today's digital world. Apparently these two lovebirds share more than a love for one another - their first date was centered around a slightly different kind of love. Their love for farm show milkshakes. The two met and drove together to the Harrisburg Farm Show with the sole purpose of getting milkshakes. I should add here that if you've never been to the farm show or heard of their infamous milkshakes, then you owe it to yourself to take a trip! Anyway, back to the story... over creamy, delicious chilled beverages, Lauri and Drew sat and talked until the cows came home. I mean, until their milkshakes were long gone and they had begun to get to know one another. And since this first date, they have been inseparable. No really, I can attest... i-n-s-e-p-a-r-a-b-l-e. And the good kind of inseparable! :)
Did I mention I couldn't be happier for this girl? You can feel the happiness simply by the expression in this photo! ^^^
Lauri and Drew's journey together will continue in a few short months, when the two say "I Do". While I won't be capturing her wedding, I'll have another important job as her MOH! I know this day is going to be one she will remember for a lifetime. But, before the wedding day is here, there are a few other fun hurdles. Leave it to me, sistah, to help spoil you in your few remaining months as a 'single' lady!
Lauri and Drew, thank you for allowing me to capture this love and celebrate your engagement with you! It was a joy to capture these moments, and I cannot wait to be a part of one of the best days of your life! I look forward to supporting you, Lauri, as you marry the man you've been waiting for! And yes, even if that means holding your dress while you pee... ;-)
